Lino Seggi developer guide
PROBLEMS:
- In groups view as a normal user, you see memberships of a group as a long list, where you can only click on yourself. I think you should be able to click on everyone, so that you can read about them, add them as friends or vote for them.
- Comments should be open to everyone, so people can expose fraudulent voters in case the guy who was given the vote promised to vote for someone or support a party, but because it's all hidden and he could've been paid off and voted for someone else actually. Like if a person decided, to be a "vote collector for a political party", for a remote town/hospital/retirement home. It should be trackable by his voters to see what he did with those votes.
- To help prevent the above aswell, the original voter who "delegated their vote to another, should see the end result of the voting chain. like I voted for X -> X voted for Y -> Y voted for Z.
- What to do in a closed voting loop, I vote for X -> X votes for me. That's 2 votes in the void since we both only have 1 vote. In this case it'd mean you shouldn't be able vote for someone who voted for you. Since if other people now start voting for you they will also join the void since if you voted you can't be a candidate. Therefore there should be check before you vote for someone, that they haven't voted for you.
- Problem with not being able to vote for yourself is that, you can't be someone in power if you vote. Because by voting you give all your collected votes to someone else. So to keep those, you'd have to not vote which in my opinion feels wrong to encourage in a democracy.
- Right now I read that there's some turns, to check if someone has enough votes to be a member and if they don't they can vote on. How will these turns be determined if anyone can vote whenever or change the vote whenever and so on. How do you determine if 1 guy has his turn and another doesn't have his at that moment. (Need a discussion on this at some point!)
- The friendship requirement I think in a real system would end up being moot. Since it is unenforceable and quite undeterminable without insane government overreach who is friends with who. This would end up making the requirement a trivial "ignorable or bypassable" technicality of the website.
- When a board allows multiple votes do we allow them to be split or do we just keep it simple that 1 vote has the "power" of however many votes you're allowed"
- Maybe add a forced "cooldown period" so to speak after voting so that people can't constantly keep changing their votes willy nilly and have to commit to that vote for a certain period of time so that it carries more weight.
TODO:
- Add the friends list table on every persons profile kind of like facebook I guess
- A way to see the rankings by vote and who's actually ended up on the board*
- Obviously the security/confidentiality of the votes, even admins technically shouldn't see who has who's vote.
- People can vote multiple times, per board, it should be only once or per how many votes you're allowed
IDEAS:
- Idk how possible this is but I think users should be able to create their own boards, and be able to manage those boards.
- In the board members list a marker or icon, that distinguishes people that are your friends.
DONE:
- Shouldn't be able to untick the friend requests that someone else accepted.
- can't see any incoming friend requests
- Add a friends list table
- An extra field to the vote, where you can give a reasoning for your vote that is just for yourself, so you can remember why exactly you voted for someone*
