Maybe Eric is right when he recommends to look into "Materialize design toolkits and frameworks".
So far on the short list are:
- Material design lite: [url getmdl.io/] Apache License v2
- Polymer [url www.polymer-project.org/] 3-Clause BSD
- Material-UI [url www.material-ui.com/#/]The MIT License
It seems that all 3 of these are fully open, rather than SAP's openui5 which is a community edition of a commercial framework.
Also there is Node.js and Axios and Promise. And Angular and TypeScript. And ionic (based on Angular)
