Gerd pointed out Tom Preston-Werner's page about [url semver.org semantic versioning]. In Lino we use date-based versioning like [url wiki.ubuntu.com/TimeBasedReleases in Ubuntu].

Rule #1 says "Software using Semantic Versioning MUST declare a public API." AFAICS a public API for Lino makes no sense. Contradict me if I'm wrong.
