#3284 (Noi should differentiate between "Site" and "Team")
by Luc Saffre · in Developers · assigned to khchine5
Résumé
We have many sites on Hobbit, each of them with a list of subscribers. Most of these lists are the same. When a new developer joins thedevelopers team, we must add him as a subscriber to each site. That's tedious.
Add the lino_xl.lib.teams plugin to noi. In Jane we will have the following teams: "Developers" (Tonis, Hamza, Luc), "Accounting" (luc, mm) and maybe a few more teams. Add a FK to Team per Site. Change the logic which gives the change observers of a ticket to not use Subscriptions any more but to use the members of the team this ticket is assigned to. Per team add a field "triager" which points to the user who is responsible for triaging tickets of this team. Remove Subscription model (after converting any other usage).

- 6 ans, 8 mois ago by Luc Saffre about #3284 (Noi should differentiate between "Site" and "Team") : Now remove the Subscription model for good. Run manual tests. Use the situation to simulate a data migration.

- 6 ans, 8 mois ago by Luc Saffre about #3284 (Noi should differentiate between "Site" and "Team") : Next step is to adapt the tests in book. I see that [url travis-ci.org/lino-framework/book/jobs/654418048 this failure on Travis] is caused by new Django 3.0.3 (I got it on my pc after upgrading).
- 6 ans, 8 mois ago by khchine5 about #3284 (Noi should differentiate between "Site" and "Team") : I have commit my changes to xl and noi project.
- 6 ans, 8 mois ago by Luc Saffre about #3284 (Noi should differentiate between "Site" and "Team") : Yes, the internal name is "groups". Only the verbose_name has been changed to "Teams". (We also have a plugin named "teams", but this name is actually misleading, the teams plugin would better be named "Departments", it is used when every user belongs to at most one "team" (department).
- 6 ans, 8 mois ago by khchine5 about #3284 (Noi should differentiate between "Site" and "Team") : It is the groups plugin not the team to be used ?
- 6 ans, 8 mois ago by Luc Saffre about #3284 (Noi should differentiate between "Site" and "Team") : I think we can now proceed to remove the subscription model. Go boldly and remove the model locally. Before releasing, check whether every usage is removed. And before removing the usage, check whether it can be remove. For example every site on Hobbit should have a team before migrating data.
