It should be in this forma [mail.isp.example]:587 username:password I found it in this simple guide www.linode.com/docs/email/postfix/postfix-smtp-debian7/

• 6 Jahre, 6 Monate ago von Luc Saffre about #3590 (Sending emails from the new production site) : Yes, on mdg1 we installed postfix and modified /etc/postfix/main.cf to use SR as relay. But that's a bit stupid. I think that EMAIL_HOST_USER is better.
• 6 Jahre, 6 Monate ago von Luc Saffre about #3590 (Sending emails from the new production site) : So the username on SR would be "mdg2". But I guess that we must also tell postfix on SR that it should accept to relay these emails, since they come from a different server. Probably we must also set  EMAIL_HOST_USER and EMAIL_HOST_PASSWORD in the mdg2 settings.
• 6 Jahre, 6 Monate ago von Luc Saffre about #3590 (Sending emails from the new production site) : Seems that the normal way is to create a system user for each postfix user. Postfix doesn't have its own list of users. [url serverfault.com/questions/175535/add-email-account-to-postfix This thread for example] seems to confirm this.

• 6 Jahre, 6 Monate ago von Luc Saffre about #3590 (Sending emails from the new production site) : We need to set the SMTP settings for the new avanti prod site. I think it should use the SR smtp server. So we probably need a user account on SR for each monitored site. Is it possible to create mail accounts without user account?
