Occurs at least under ExtJS, probably also under React. I guess this bug was introduced recently because this is a common action on production sites.

5 ans, 2 mois ago by Luc Saffre about #4285 (After changing pwd of another user, admin becomes that user) : How to reproduce: go apc, sign in as robin, select Configure -> System -> Site users, double-click on rolf, click on (*) to change rolf's password, set a new password and confirm the dialog. Go back to the main page and/or hit Ctrl-R. The Lino session no thinks that you are rolf.
