The expected behavior of a CTRL+`click on a link` is such that it opens the link in a new window. But when the link is a js action, CTRL+`click` (takes it to a new window. But) does not make sense to the browser. The idea is to override browsers default behavior so that the CTRL+`click` action is handled by the frontend_js module and a request is made to the server with some parameter conveying the message (to the server) that this action should be handled in a new browser window so that the server response with a permalink uri.
