We want a single comment per incoming message.

• 1 Jahr, 11 Monate ago von Luc Saffre about #4381 (Uploading photos or other media files via email (postfix/inbox plugin)) : The comment that announces a new upload should *not* include the picture. The comment is the equivalent of a desktop notification. Popular IM clients also don't include the image in such cases.

• 2 Jahre, 1 Monat ago von Luc Saffre about #4381 (Uploading photos or other media files via email (postfix/inbox plugin)) : I am still struggling with where to store incoming files. Today I learned that I can't use Django's FileField (which mainly handles uploading and creating the file in a file system, which we don't need because inbox writes itself the attachment to the file system). • 2 Jahre, 1 Monat ago von Luc Saffre about #4381 (Uploading photos or other media files via email (postfix/inbox plugin)) : I started a collection of sample messages. TODO: How configurable/extensible do we want the parsing feature? How to find out which comment the user is replying to?
• 2 Jahre, 1 Monat ago von Luc Saffre about #4381 (Uploading photos or other media files via email (postfix/inbox plugin)) : I think that we want the feature that users are able to reply to an email notifications by email. But our current implementation is needs a review: (1) we don't need the username because the sender's email address tells us the user (2) we don't nee a reply link in the notification body, (3) is reply...

It doesn't need to be a database model because anyway only a server manager can add new mailboxes.
• 2 Jahre, 1 Monat ago von Luc Saffre about #4381 (Uploading photos or other media files via email (postfix/inbox plugin)) : This morning I realized that we don't need the alias trick nor any script. We can simply define a normal user "photos" and let Lino walk over the mailbox of that user.
• 2 Jahre, 1 Monat ago von Luc Saffre about #4381 (Uploading photos or other media files via email (postfix/inbox plugin)) : The /etc/aliases defines an alias:
  photos:             "|/home/photos/bin/photos.py"
and i will now play with the /home/photos/bin/photos.py script.
