• 2 aastat, 11 kuud ago by Luc Saffre about #5193 (Blog entries should be just another type of node) : Okay... the test suites are passing and I have reached a point where I can package it up until next time. I will push my work now.
• 2 aastat, 11 kuud ago by Luc Saffre about #5193 (Blog entries should be just another type of node) : After having played with this, I realized that yes, blog entries in publisher should have the same layout as hierarchical pages, but we actually do not want previous/next links on blog entries. In the admin view yes, there we want to navigate also in display mode "detail", but not on a publisher lin...
• 2 aastat, 11 kuud ago by Luc Saffre about #5193 (Blog entries should be just another type of node) : The test suite has 19 trivial failures, I could fix them and publish the current situation, but I prefer to play a bit more before packing my work. For example the child_node_depth, or the breadcrumbs line in blog entries, ...
• 2 aastat, 11 kuud ago by Luc Saffre about #5193 (Blog entries should be just another type of node) : The update_publisher_pages() task is a great confirmation of our linod.BackgroundTask concept. Without linod, we would have to write a django-admin command for this.
• 2 aastat, 11 kuud ago by Luc Saffre about #5193 (Blog entries should be just another type of node) : TODO: Setting child_node_depth of the Photos page to 1 does not change anything. Add breadcrumbs to a blog page. Add useful content to the default as_page() method (e.g. automatically list all published objects that link to self via a foreign key)
• 2 aastat, 11 kuud ago by Luc Saffre about #5193 (Blog entries should be just another type of node) : TODO: right now Lino would always show *all* blog entries in the home page.
• 2 aastat, 11 kuud ago by Luc Saffre about #5193 (Blog entries should be just another type of node) : TODO: The home page should have an automatically generated table of content. How to integrate user pages to the sitemap?
• 2 aastat, 11 kuud ago by Luc Saffre about #5193 (Blog entries should be just another type of node) : The subsections of the "Services" pages of the demo blog are no longer independent pages (instances of Page) but mere instances of Node. This means that they have no public html page of their own.
• 2 aastat, 11 kuud ago by Luc Saffre about #5193 (Blog entries should be just another type of node) : Not bad. It's slow, but I am advancing. Last thing is the prev/next links.
• 2 aastat, 11 kuud ago by Luc Saffre about #5193 (Blog entries should be just another type of node) : I am still playing and juggling with different ways to structure the database. For example whether Node should be an abstract model or not.
• 3 aastat ago by Luc Saffre about #5193 (Blog entries should be just another type of node) : I plan to add another model pages.Translation, and an incoming request to see e.g. node #7, it will first check the user language and if needed look up another node.
• 3 aastat ago by Luc Saffre about #5193 (Blog entries should be just another type of node) : I saw first success of my changes, but at least one issue is still to do: language selection/navigation changes because the node depends on the user language...
• 3 aastat ago by Luc Saffre about #5193 (Blog entries should be just another type of node) : I started local code changes. This will be a quite fundamental change. I am optimistic.
• 3 aastat ago by Luc Saffre about #5193 (Blog entries should be just another type of node) (2 replies) : A fundamental difference between pages (nodes) and blog entries is that the body of a node is a babel field while a blog entry is in one language.
• 3 aastat ago by Luc Saffre about #5193 (Blog entries should be just another type of node) : Because blog entries also should have breadcrumbs line and should have the same layout as other pages. And in general we want previous/next links.
• 3 aastat ago by Luc Saffre about #5193 (Blog entries should be just another type of node) : Created new Ticket #5193 (Blog entries should be just another type pf page).
