#6704 (Keine Kartendaten gefunden: CKR_GENERAL_ERROR (0x00000005))

I'm having this when I try to read my Belgian eID card into Avanti.

I installed eid-viewer and eid-mw, It also comes when I simply say eidreader in the command line:

$ eidreader

It finds a slot that agrees to open a session, but then sess.findObjects() returns an empty list even when I specify no template at all.
