• 1 Monat, 2 Wochen ago von Luc Saffre about #7003 (Marcel doesn't receive emails from stewards) : Ha! One success: after changing the p=reject into p=quarantine, gmail now accepts my email (but still moves it to the spam folder).
• 1 Monat, 2 Wochen ago von Luc Saffre about #7003 (Marcel doesn't receive emails from stewards) : It is still possible that Marcel actually got the invitation email yesterday (because his password has been set) and that he just didn't notify me. I sent another welcome email to Micheline who also is silent and did not yet define her password.
• 1 Monat, 2 Wochen ago von Luc Saffre about #7003 (Marcel doesn't receive emails from stewards) : Aha, Gemini told me this: If you just fixed your records within the last few days, MxToolbox will immediately see the update, but Google Postmaster will continue displaying "Needs work" for up to 5 to 7 days until its dashboard catches up. • 1 Monat, 2 Wochen ago von Luc Saffre about #7003 (Marcel doesn't receive emails from stewards) : For a subdomain server like stewards.mylino.net I need to manually edit the zone file because the OVH web interface doesn't support this setup. I need manual edit for the DMARC and for the DKIM record.
• 1 Monat, 2 Wochen ago von Luc Saffre about #7003 (Marcel doesn't receive emails from stewards) : Gemini helped me to find a bug in my zone file: I had forgotten a dot at the end of my dmarc entry. Now mxtoolbox reports no problems, but Google still refuses mails from stewards. Maybe the DNS just didn't yet propagate to their mail server.
• 1 Monat, 2 Wochen ago von Luc Saffre Antwort auf Luc Saffre about #7003 (Marcel doesn't receive emails from stewards) : I changed the rule for subdomains in above screen from "Reject" to "None" and tried again. SAme result.
• 1 Monat, 2 Wochen ago von Luc Saffre about #7003 (Marcel doesn't receive emails from stewards) (1 Antwort) : Gemini tells me "If your Postfix server actually sends emails directly from the subdomain (e.g., sender@stewards.mylino.net), then a record must exist at _dmarc.stewards.mylino.net. If it does not, it will inherit the root domain's policy unless a specific subdomain policy (sp=) overrides it. [1] (w...
• 1 Monat, 2 Wochen ago von Luc Saffre about #7003 (Marcel doesn't receive emails from stewards) : I made another test: I set my email to luc.saffre@gmail.com and tried to send a verification mail. And Google refused it:

• 1 Monat, 2 Wochen ago von Luc Saffre about #7003 (Marcel doesn't receive emails from stewards) : I now configured everything on the stewards mail server. Also updated our mail server cheat sheet.
• 1 Monat, 2 Wochen ago von Luc Saffre about #7003 (Marcel doesn't receive emails from stewards) : Seems that I also must configure DKIM and DMARC. *Sigh*
• 1 Monat, 2 Wochen ago von Luc Saffre about #7003 (Marcel doesn't receive emails from stewards) : Gemini gave me a plausible explanation:
ISPs like Proximus will instantly drop or flag emails from subdomains if they lack a Sender Policy Framework (SPF) record. You need to explicitly authorize the subdomain to send its own mail. Add this TXT record to your DNS: Type: TXT Name/Host: stewards Valu...
• 1 Monat, 2 Wochen ago von Luc Saffre about #7003 (Marcel doesn't receive emails from stewards) : mxtoolbox says "We did not find a DNS record published for this domain or hostname."
• 1 Monat, 2 Wochen ago von Luc Saffre about #7003 (Marcel doesn't receive emails from stewards) : Created new Ticket #7003 (Marcel doesn't receive emails from stewards).
