  • 3 years, 8 months ago by Luc Saffre about #4664 (Publisher no longer uses Jinja templates) : Luc and sharif had a session together. Idea: plugin setting pages.admin_location, which defaults to None. When not None, the default_ui is relocated to this location and the root location is rendered using pages.Node.get(ref='index').
  • 4 years ago by Luc Saffre about #4664 (Publisher no longer uses Jinja templates) : I committed my changes. In cms and shop we have now examples of where I plan to go: RecentEntries (in cms) and Products (in shop) are visible to anonymous. No more PublisherDashboardItem required. But the display_mode should now become "list" (or "story"?), and that display_mode should call the as_p...
  • 4 years ago by Luc Saffre about #4664 (Publisher no longer uses Jinja templates) : The display_mode list should use as_list_item(). And I think that the publisher will even go away soon. We are not going to rewrite another system for navigating around a Lino site.
  • 4 years ago by Luc Saffre about #4664 (Publisher no longer uses Jinja templates) : The lino/modlib/publisher/config/publisher/default_list.pub.html file says {% extends "publisher/default.pub.html" %}, which indicates that there has been a template file publisher/default.pub.html, but I cannot find this file. I also searched in several older releases (the oldest one from 4 months ...
  • 4 years ago by Luc Saffre about #4664 (Publisher no longer uses Jinja templates) : Ha! Instead of Publishable.get_publisher_chunks() with a display_mode="list" we call now Model.as_list_item(ar). This method has always been there, almost not used, but this is actually what it was meant to be. Return a HTML string that describes the row within a single paragraph. Internal API chang...
  • 4 years ago by Luc Saffre about #4664 (Publisher no longer uses Jinja templates) : Meditating about publisher views. What is their purpose? Arent't they actually just another display mode?
  • 4 years ago by Luc Saffre about #4664 (Publisher no longer uses Jinja templates) : I am playing in shop to get a meaningful demo use case of the publisher. This has more consequences. Each publisher view will be linked to a data view (TableActor), not to a model. Maybe the Publishable mixin will even go away.
  • 4 years ago by Luc Saffre about #4664 (Publisher no longer uses Jinja templates) : In shop Lino now also uses the template-less method, and as a first step) shows the first 3 products in the dashboard. But I am still having a weight effect: it shows all products although get_dashboard_objects() returns cls.objects.all()[0:3]
  • 4 years, 1 month ago by Sharif Mehedi in reply to Luc Saffre about #4664 (Publisher no longer uses Jinja templates) : We can probably get rid of shop since we are trying similar functionalities in cosi.
  • 4 years, 1 month ago by Luc Saffre about #4664 (Publisher no longer uses Jinja templates) (1 reply) : I am surprised that I couldn't find a demo project neither for voga nor for shop where anonymous sees some content. For voga demos is't understandable, but in shop1 there should definitively be some offers also to anonymous.
  • 4 years, 1 month ago by Luc Saffre about #4664 (Publisher no longer uses Jinja templates) : My changes work for Lino CMS (pages and blogs), but before committing them I must also convert the other publisher usages from Jinja to Python: Shop and Voga. Basically I replace publisher_page_template by a method get_publisher_chunks().
  • 4 years, 1 month ago by Luc Saffre about #4664 (Publisher no longer uses Jinja templates) : This change is an example of when to use templates and when not. It was needed for #4661 (show children of main node also in dashboard. It's about how an Lino should render some database content to a web page. More precisely how an application developer wants to write the code for it. A template introduc...
