• 1 week, 3 days ago by Luc Saffre about #5575 (Lino Seggi (a continuous cascaded voting system) or Posti) : I started two documentation pages about vote bubbles: one on Jane, the other in the sphinx docs of Seggi. jane.mylino.net/p/62 seggi.lino-framework.org/topics/bubbles.html Guess which one I prefer? ;-) Yes, it didn't take long and I switched back to Sphinx. But the main reason for switching was table...
• 1 week, 3 days ago by Luc Saffre about #5575 (Lino Seggi (a continuous cascaded voting system) or Posti) : We start to think about how Lino would detect voting bubbles. The term voting bubble is inspired by the term filter bubble.
• 1 week, 5 days ago by Jan Markus Kähara about #5575 (Lino Seggi (a continuous cascaded voting system) or Posti) : I basically did what the comment from Luc before this one said we should do.
• 2 weeks ago by Luc Saffre about #5575 (Lino Seggi (a continuous cascaded voting system) or Posti) : Jan and I worked in the seats.BoardChecker: it now deletes votes from users (or for delegates) that are no longer member of the group. Next thing to do is to create seats when a candidate has enough votes and to mark existing seats as deprecated when they no longer have enough votes).
• 2 weeks, 4 days ago by Luc Saffre about #5575 (Lino Seggi (a continuous cascaded voting system) or Posti) : Jan, please read about the yield keyword (generator functions). And about the checkdata plugin.
• 2 weeks, 4 days ago by Luc Saffre about #5575 (Lino Seggi (a continuous cascaded voting system) or Posti) : I wrote a data checker in the seats plugin, which creates empty votes when needed (or deletes superfluous votes).
• 2 weeks, 5 days ago by Jan Markus Kähara about #5575 (Lino Seggi (a continuous cascaded voting system) or Posti) : I reworded some of the problems and expanded on their explanations. Then after trying to look into how to make the boards creatable for all users I stumbled upon a bigger problem regarding the currently infinite voting that users can do. I wrote this down as well. I wasn't able to fix this yet but I...
• 3 weeks ago by Luc Saffre about #5575 (Lino Seggi (a continuous cascaded voting system) or Posti) : Together we wrote the friends.MyFriends table. My first implementation used a list in memory, which even worked, and it was fun to do, but then I realized that it has disadvantages and that there is an easier way to do it::
@classmethod def get_request_queryset(cls, ar, **filter): qs...

• 3 weeks, 5 days ago by Luc Saffre about #5575 (Lino Seggi (a continuous cascaded voting system) or Posti) : I had another playing session, resulting in a few more changes: gitlab.com/synodalsoft/seggi/-/commit/c7f415ba0179ac4387ff9d46d67fd619ee341a94 gitlab.com/lino-framework/xl/-/commit/9f5d5a1edc36f9f0fed8dbbafa7781fc6093cad2
• 3 weeks, 5 days ago by Luc Saffre about #5575 (Lino Seggi (a continuous cascaded voting system) or Posti) : I played alone in xl.lib.friends: gitlab.com/lino-framework/xl/-/commit/a9935668045b84c9f3bf532dce445d78e6e8fc55
I first tried using a state field and workflows, but workflow actions can't override get_action_permission(). Which tells me that generic workflow actions and transition are an obsolete f...

IDEAS: - An extra field to the vote, where you can give a reasoning for your vote that is just for yourself, so you can remember why exactly you voted for someone - Idk how possible this is but I think users should be able to create their own boards, and be able to manage those boards. - In the bo...
