• 4 years, 11 months ago by Sharif Mehedi about #4356 (Submitting a comment creates it twice) : turned out at last, it was the experimental service worker that was making an extra request for I had put some buggy code (possible explanation: react was calling resp.json() twice, once from the service worker and once from the main.js) in it.
• 4 years, 11 months ago by Sharif Mehedi about #4356 (Submitting a comment creates it twice) : Confirmed it by pid that it's a single (the same) process getting two requests for one (the same) action.
• 4 years, 11 months ago by Sharif Mehedi about #4356 (Submitting a comment creates it twice) : I am out of ideas again on this. But it is confirmed that this is a problem in the application code, since it is reproducible locally. I first tried with fixing the issues on elastic plugin, which didn't fix the problem and afterwards I tried with removing elastic plugin completely, which didn't fix...

• 4 years, 11 months ago by Sharif Mehedi about #4356 (Submitting a comment creates it twice) (1 reply) : After some rethinking and some triages on this, I believe this issue is related to application code. @hannes you can chill on this and leave it upto me for the moment.

• 4 years, 11 months ago by Luc Saffre about #4356 (Submitting a comment creates it twice) : We saw that it duplicated because two different uwsgi process receive the AJAX request.
• 4 years, 11 months ago by Luc Saffre about #4356 (Submitting a comment creates it twice) : One idea is to add more log messages in the Python code so that we can look what happened when it occurs again.
• 4 years, 11 months ago by Luc Saffre about #4356 (Submitting a comment creates it twice) : OMG: I just had another occurence (clicking start session created two sessions)
• 4 years, 11 months ago by Luc Saffre about #4356 (Submitting a comment creates it twice) : Trying too whether this gets created twice.
• 4 years, 11 months ago by Sharif Mehedi about #4356 (Submitting a comment creates it twice) : Saving a model instance object twice is still occurring on jane. But locally everything's working fine (even with elastic plugin installed). And my local repositories are up to date with pypi versions. I think we need to take another look at jane.

• 4 years, 11 months ago by Sharif Mehedi about #4356 (Submitting a comment creates it twice) : Okay. I thought this issue was back. Tried to reproduce it locally. But locally it was fine. So, I thought maybe it's the site data, and after clearing site data. Jane is working fine again.
• 4 years, 11 months ago by Sharif Mehedi about #4356 (Submitting a comment creates it twice) : another test
• 5 years ago by Luc Saffre about #4356 (Submitting a comment creates it twice) : More precisely it was back at least once for a comment.

• 5 years ago by Luc Saffre about #4356 (Submitting a comment creates it twice) : But starting a new session on a ticket still creates two sessions. Also after clearing site data.

• 5 years ago by Luc Saffre about #4356 (Submitting a comment creates it twice) : Yes, this issue is gone after clearing site data "a second time". Maybe there is some TTL (time-to-live) setting somewhere? But okay, this is no longer urgent. We can work again in Jane.
• 5 years ago by Luc Saffre about #4356 (Submitting a comment creates it twice) : Trying to submit another comment. NB I am sure that I did clear site data before testing this. If the issue is now gone, this means that maybe some caching effect causes the site data to not renew immediately.
• 5 years ago by Sharif Mehedi about #4356 (Submitting a comment creates it twice) : My comment seem to be submitted just once.
• 5 years ago by Sharif Mehedi about #4356 (Submitting a comment creates it twice) : Locally it's not reproducible. It's likely that it's not related to react.
• 5 years ago by Luc Saffre about #4356 (Submitting a comment creates it twice) : This ticket is quite disturbing for our communication and and therefore should get fixed urgently. @8lurry please try to reproduce it locally.
